Dasani Marathon
Mwananchi Communications Limited sponsored the second edition of the Dasani Marathon which was held on 24th June 2018 with three categories including half marathon, 10km run and family fun (five km) jog or walk. The event took off at the Police Officers’ Mess at Masaki and featured 2,000 runners from various parts of the country.
The marathon event started with a warm-up exercise at 5:30am, followed by the 21km run which took off at 6:00am, thereafter the 10km race which started at 6:30am and then the family fun jog or walk which commenced at 06:45am. All participants who finished the race were awarded with medals.
The event expected to attract professional athletes and marathon lovers who have been training for the event. The organizers said it was be a good place for people to put a sparkle to their weekend.
